Makar Sakranti mingled with British Council Collaborative Activity
Sanskarians enjoyed Makar Sakranti
festival with various British Council Collaborative activities. Kite flying was
the center of attraction. Kites of various colours were flown by boys and girls
of all the four houses. Tremendous joy and happiness could be witnessed on the
hill surrounded lush green lawn of Sanskar International School. The students
were allowed full freedom by their teachers to fly kites in the manner they
liked. The whole display was focused on the significance of Makar Sakranti.
This activity engendered the spirit of competitiveness.
The day of Sankranti is dedicated
to Lord Surya. The day is significant because the sun enters Makar Rashi. In
most regions Sankranti lasts for two to four days. Makar Sankranti is one of
the few festivals which are celebrated throughout India, unanimously. Numerous
rituals are followed during Sankranti. These rituals vary from state to state
and region to region.
Full of enthusiasm...students had a blast..
